❓ FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
After changing jobs, how many days do I have to notify the immigration office about my visa?
✅ CONCLUSION
You must notify the Immigration Services Agency of a "change of affiliated organization" within 14 days of both your resignation date and your start date at the new company. This can be submitted online.
Two types of notifications required
| Type of Notification | Deadline | Submission Destination |
|---|---|---|
| Notification of Resignation (left previous company) | Within 14 days of resignation date | Immigration online system |
| Notification of Employment (joined new company) | Within 14 days of employment date | Immigration online system |
⚠️ Forgetting to notify will affect your next renewal applicationFailure to submit will be recorded by immigration, negatively impacting your next period of stay renewal application as "non-fulfillment of notification obligation." The period of stay granted may also be shortened.
How to submit (online only)
You can submit through the Immigration Services Agency's "Online Application System for Residence." If you have a My Number Card, you can complete the procedure from home. There is no need to visit a counter.
What if I forgot to notify?
Even if the deadline has passed, it is still possible to submit the notification. By attaching documents explaining the reason for the delay, you may be able to minimize the impact on your next renewal.
